Director Structured Credit Group - Acquisition & Leveraged Finance, SPDA Join SMBC Group as a Director Structured Credit Group in the Acquisition & Leveraged Finance team (SPDA). This role focuses on leading origination, structuring, and execution of bespoke credit solutions for acquisition and leveraged finance transactions across Asia. Job Responsibilities Lead the origination and structuring of bespoke and innovative credit solutions, driving transaction execution in collaboration with Syndication, Credit Risk, Legal, and Compliance. Design and structure transactions tailored to client and investor requirements, balancing risk, return and regulatory considerations. Manage due diligence and internal approvals within tight timelines. Negotiate financing terms and documentation with clients, sponsors, and legal advisors. Build and maintain strong relationships with financial sponsors, asset managers, banks, and legal counsel. Lead pitch efforts and prepare tailored client proposals. Identify and monitor market developments for new opportunities and investor sentiment across core markets. Monitor performance of transactions and provide oversight on credit risk, counterparty exposure and market movements. Liaise with risk management and control functions on transaction monitoring and early warning indicators. Contribute to the development of new products, frameworks and platforms for structured credit. Keep abreast of regulatory changes and apply them to structured solutions. Oversee execution team activities, troubleshoot, and conduct post‑closing deal reviews. Drive business efficiency initiatives and regulatory reporting. Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing. Job Requirements 9–12 years of experience in financing, including leverage finance in Asia, at leading financial institutions. Strong understanding of credit, investment and financial analysis applied to transaction structuring. Excellent sales and negotiation skills at a business level. Attention to detail and strong accuracy. Proficiency in financial modelling. Ability to comply with regulatory and internal policies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong business judgment and commitment to ethical and professional standards. Driven personality with high integrity and work ethic. Collaborative team player yet capable of independent work.
