Overview
Relief Special Education Teacher (Secondary), SSD - SAIS is a role within Stamford American International School (Stamford American) in Singapore. The school serves students aged 2 months to 18 years from 79 countries across two campuses and offers IB programmes (PYP, MYP, DP) with a focus on student well-being and academic excellence.
The School Support Department (SSD) seeks a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to deliver individualized intervention and design education for students requiring increased support, curricular modification, and explicit instruction, using a MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) model. This position involves providing Tier 3/intensive intervention and collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals.
Responsibilities
Provide Tier 3/intensive intervention directly to students.
Design individualized education plans for students requiring increased support, curricular modification, and explicit instruction.
Collaborate within the Student Support Department and with multidisciplinary professionals to support student needs.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in special education with relevant qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent; professional current teacher licensure or certification.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with students requiring special education services; strong English language skills; proficiency with computers and technology.
Excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration, organization, and a positive attitude; strong references and attendance record.
Preferred
Knowledge and experience delivering Tier 3 support services within an MTSS model; training and/or experience with Tier 3 intervention programs and assessments.
Mandarin proficiency preferred to communicate with Mandarin-speaking students and parents.
