Singapore Ant International Full time

Ant International’s Alipay+ business is seeking a Privacy Counsel to play a critical role in shaping our data protection and compliance strategy across APAC and beyond. This position is ideal for a privacy lawyer who is passionate about data, comfortable working at the intersection of law and technology, and eager to influence innovative fintech products at a global scale.

You’ll partner with product and tech teams, business development, risk management, and legal/compliance stakeholders to embed privacy by design, manage regulatory requirements, and support cross-border initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide privacy guidance for new product launches and initiatives in APAC, in collaboration with EU and North America teams.
  • Analyze products, policies, and initiatives to deliver actionable risk assessments and solutions.
  • Drive privacy by design: translate product and technical features into compliant, practical frameworks.
  • Partner with business teams to meet product launch timelines while safeguarding compliance.

Privacy Governance / DPO

  • Oversee privacy compliance programs for licensed entities, ensuring adherence to local regulations.

Contracts & Negotiations

  • Support legal teams in privacy-related negotiations, including data processing and cross-border agreements.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communicator with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Professional working proficiency in Mandarin and English.
  • Proven ability to work independently in fast-paced environments and deliver clear, pragmatic advice under pressure.
  • Familiarity with financial services, payments, or fintech. Experience in tech (SaaS, social media, AI, app-based services) is a plus.
