Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electronics and Systems Design Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design of complex systems, including Radars, Navigation Comms, and Integrated Combat Systems.

  • The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and at least 8 years of experience in Marine related projects on Navigation Communications Systems and Radars (Fire Contol & Surveillance).
  • Possess both project management and man management experience, with a proven ability to manage external and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is also essential.

About the Role:

This is a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual who can lead cross-functional teams and develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems.

  • The role involves working closely with other departments to ensure that designs meet contractual technical specifications, installation control documents, Classification and Statutory Rules/Regulations.
  • Collaboration with external parties to provide specialist technical assessment and analysis will also be required.
  • Performing detail design calculations where necessary and ensuring all design issues are resolved promptly will be an important aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new concepts and tools for designing complex systems.
  • Lead the integration of Platform and Systems design.
  • Prepare General Arrangement Plans (GAP) and tender proposals.
  • Establish Major Equipment Specifications and Selections.
  • Ensure accuracy and maintainability of equipment specification, technical information, functional description document, installation control document, and interface design specification.
  • Manage the Basic design document schedule to support project milestones.
  • Participate in tests and sea trials as required.
  • Generate 2D arrangement drawings for major equipment.
  • Provide detailed reports on design progress and results.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • 8 years of relevant experience in Marine related projects on Navigation Communications Systems and Radars (Fire Contol & Surveillance).
  • Possess both project management and man management experience.
  • Ability to manage external and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
