Overview Data Scientist (Lead) - Remote This is a full-time remote role for a Data Scientist. You will be responsible for driving analytical insights and data-driven decision-making, building and managing a high-performing data science team, developing analytics strategies and frameworks, and delivering actionable intelligence to institutional clients. The Data Science Lead will work closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams to identify analytical opportunities, establish best practices for data science workflows, and scale our analytics capabilities in the blockchain intelligence space. What you'll do Build and lead our data science organization, establishing methodologies, frameworks, and best practices for institutional-grade analytics and insights Own the full analytics lifecycle from problem formulation to deployment, working with institutional investors, funds, and blockchain professionals to deliver data-driven solutions Develop and execute analytics strategies for new products and market segments, translating business needs into technical requirements Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine data pipelines, feature development, and model deployment strategies Drive measurable impact through predictive models, statistical analysis, and machine learning solutions while maintaining the rigor and interpretability our institutional clients expect What we're looking for Proven track record in applied data science, preferably delivering analytics solutions to institutional clients or enterprise customers Experience building and scaling data science teams and establishing ML/analytics processes from early stages Strong understanding of statistical methods, machine learning techniques, experimentation frameworks, and model evaluation metrics Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for C-level executives and decision-makers Strategic thinking with the ability to identify high-impact analytical opportunities and deliver end-to-end solutions Self-motivated and able to thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment Experience in blockchain analytics, fintech data science, or SaaS analytics platforms is a plus Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics or related quantitative field preferred Why Cobalt Finance?High-Impact Work: Your designs will be used by leading institutional investors and the world's most influential blockchain protocols Innovation at the Frontier: Work at the intersection of institutional finance and cutting-edge blockchain technology Remote-First Culture: Work from anywhere with flexible hours and a globally distributed team Growth Opportunity: Shape design culture and build a world-class design team as we scale Competitive Compensation: Industry-leading salary, equity, and benefits package Location and work arrangement Fully remote.
