Description Manufacturing Biotechnologist Trainee – Train & Place Program At Roche, we advance science to cure diseases and ensure universal access to healthcare. This role is part of our Train & Place Program, offering a one‐year contract for a fresh graduate or diploma holder in life sciences or engineering to join the Biochemical Manufacturing Department. Responsibilities Support the Biochemical Manufacturing Department by working effectively within the team to meet goals and objectives Embody PT Lean Production System (LPS), demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset and applying LPS tools for improvement initiatives Complete assigned tasks such as preparing equipment, cleaning and sterilizing vessels, preparing solutions, monitoring and operating biochemical processing equipment, sampling raw materials and dispensing, performing environmental monitoring sampling, and maintaining housekeeping while adhering to safety, cGMP, and Biochemical Manufacturing guidelines Operate computer‐based process control systems and perform data entry Participate in staff and shift change meetings, and collaborate closely with shift personnel and external support groups Qualifications Fresh graduate with a degree in Life Sciences or Engineering, diploma holders with at least 3 years of experience, or NITEC/equivalent holders with 7 years of experience (biologics experience a plus)Good problem‐solving, interpersonal communication, and team skills; self‐starter focused on safety, quality, detail, and results Willingness to work weekends, off‐shifts, overtime as required Ability to lift heavy loads up to 25 kg Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with computer‐based systems desirable Background in microbiology, fermentation, or protein purification desired Commitment to a one‐year contract Preferred Comply with all RSTO Safety, Health & Environmental requirements, report incidents, near‐misses, hazards promptly Observe site security measures, report suspicious activity or damaged security to Site Security immediately Perform assigned tasks per safety requirement, supporting SHE in incident investigation Equal Opportunity Roche is an equal opportunity employer.
