Position VP, Software Engineer, AI Alpha Group at GIC Company Overview GIC is one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, employing over 2,000 staff across 11 offices worldwide and investing in more than 40 countries across all asset classes. The Artificial Intelligence Alpha Group (AAG) is a newly formed, AI‐native investment team dedicated to using artificial intelligence to deliver superior investment performance. Impact in the Role Drive the end‐to‐end development of AI‐powered applications. Build front‐end interfaces, back‐end services, data processing workflows, and deployment processes while leveraging AI‐native development tools to accelerate delivery and improve efficiency. What will you do?Work with the ML Architect to implement and operationalize system components into production‐ready applications. Collaborate with product managers, AI scientists and engineers to translate product requirements into detailed technical specifications and development plans. Develop and maintain scalable front‐end interfaces and back‐end services using modern frameworks and best practices. Build and optimize data processing workflows, including data extraction, transformation, integration pipelines, and feature engineering to support AI models and applications. Deploy applications to designated environments, implement monitoring solutions, and ensure stable operation. Write and maintain unit, integration, and end‐to‐end tests to ensure code reliability, performance, and maintainability. Contribute to technical documentation and facilitate cross‐functional collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle. Leverage AI‐native development tools for coding, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting while exploring emerging AI techniques to enhance productivity and quality. What makes you a successful candidate?Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of full‐stack development experience, with proficiency in at least one modern front‐end framework (React or Vue) and a Python‐based back‐end framework (FastAPI, Django, or Flask). Solid understanding of web architecture, APIs, and software design principles. Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and non‐relational systems (MongoDB, Redis) and experience with message queues. Working knowledge of data pipeline development, including extraction, transformation, and integration processes. Experience deploying and maintaining applications in Linux or cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Familiarity with agentic architectures and AI workflow design, including prompt and contextual engineering, and practical use of AI‐native tools to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation. Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and product teams. Passion for exploring emerging AI technologies and applying them to real‐world product development.
