Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight, and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
Senior Manager, Resilience Risk.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will:
Provide technical advice and support to the Singapore Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Business and Infrastructure coverage teams to ensure the risk for the First Line of Défense (1LOD) is commensurate with the scale and nature of operations; and that Risk and Control Owners clearly understand the effectiveness of the control environment. This advice may relate to the control environment, risk assessment, impact of issues or events, top and emerging risks requiring adjustments to remain within the respective Risk Appetite, and the development and implementation of localised Risk Management Framework activities (e.g., Locally Significant Risks) or to meet local regulatory expectations.
Deliver tailored expertise, review, and challenge across Singapore. Support the deployment and operation of mitigating key controls by the 1LOD, understand and treat the root causes of relevant local operational risk issues, and escalate RR matters when necessary. Ensure concerns related to RR are understood and escalated for resolution, and that RR initiatives are not hindered by poor planning or testing during delivery.
Provide technical guidance for the development and completion of Enterprise Risk and Regulatory reporting obligations (e.g., RAS, Top & Emerging Risks, Risk Profile Reporting, RMM, Board reporting where relevant).
Lead Singapore regulator and audit engagements related to RR; ensure regulatory compliance for the specialist areas and timely completion of audit actions and findings.
Monitor the local external environment for emerging risks and provide guidance on controls to mitigate them. Build and maintain cross-organizational and industry relationships.
Support training and capability development for ERM Business and Infrastructure teams and the wider HSBC Singapore community to ensure a robust understanding of RR areas. Collaborate with region/global RR specialist teams to leverage expertise.
Oversee, escalate, and provide guidance on conduct impacts across RR and 1LOD activities, including control weaknesses and risk events affecting outcomes.
Perform additional country-specific responsibilities as directed by the Head of Resilience Risk and DPO.
