The incumbent provides engineering support, including managing commissioning of new medical equipment, handling breakdowns and preventive maintenance, and decommissioning of medical equipment. He/She will also manage teams and build staff competency. Additionally, participation in Medical Equipment Procurement Workgroups is required, assisting in planning future replacements of aging equipment. The role involves evaluation committee participation for RFP/ITQ processes, providing technical support, evaluating offers, and vendor negotiations.
Further responsibilities include process/workplace improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce wastage.
Job Responsibilities:
Commissioning new medical equipment.
Performing routine safety checks and preventive maintenance.
Updating and maintaining equipment records.
Investigating medical equipment incidents and preparing reports.
Assessing equipment for condemnation based on end-user input.
Achieving service goals and KPIs.
Supervising external contractors and liaising on service and contractual issues.
Guiding and delegating to junior staff, conducting on-job training.
Supporting group BME work such as contract management, specs drafting, and project documentation.
Assisting in preparing reports and budgets.
Leading team operations and morale.
Performing additional tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Diploma in Electronics or relevant Engineering course with at least 8 years of experience in medical equipment service and maintenance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or relevant Engineering course with at least 2 years of experience.
Preferably healthcare experience.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Basic cybersecurity and IT network knowledge advantageous.
Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and meet deadlines.
