We are seeking a motivated
Network Engineer
to join our client's IT Infrastructure team on a
2-year contract . In this role, you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing our enterprise network environment to ensure high availability, security, and performance. This is a hands-on position suitable for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is eager to broaden their technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, implement, and maintain network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
Assist in network upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects.
Perform network security tasks such as access control, patching, and firewall rule management.
Support WAN, LAN, and wireless connectivity for enterprise users.
Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve connectivity and infrastructure issues.
Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and processes.
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support for critical incidents.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field.
2–4 years
of experience in network administration or engineering.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
Hands-on experience with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, or similar).
Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nagios).
Basic understanding of VPNs, load balancing, and wireless technologies.
CCNA certification (or equivalent) preferred; higher-level certifications (CCNP, CCIE) are an advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
