Roles & Responsibilities Job Summary: The Web Hosting System Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the company’s hosting infrastructure to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing web services for customers. This role involves hands-on server management, automation, troubleshooting, and customer environment support across shared, VPS, and dedicated hosting platforms. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain Linux and Windows-based hosting servers (Apache, Nginx, IIS). Oversee cPanel, WHM, and Plesk environments, ensuring uptime, performance, and security. Handle DNS management, domain configurations, email server administration (Exim, Postfix, Dovecot), and SSL installations. Monitor hosting server health, uptime, and resource utilization using monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, Cacti, Wanguard etc.). Deploy and manage VPS and dedicated servers using virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware, Proxmox). Perform regular system patching, updates, and hardening to ensure compliance with security best practices. Automate routine tasks and server provisioning using scripting or automation tools (Ansible etc). Troubleshoot hosting-related issues — website downtime, DNS errors, email delivery, or performance problems. Support customer migrations between servers or hosting plans with minimal downtime. Maintain documentation of server configurations, network topology, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with the support team to assist in resolving advanced technical tickets and escalations. Participate in on-call rotation for critical incident response and after-hours maintenance. Qualifications and Skills: Required: Singaporean / PR Only Minimum 3 years of experience in web hosting system administration or related roles. · Be on rotation standby for After Office Hour and Weekend/PH emergency Strong expertise in Linux system administration (CentOS, AlmaLinux, Ubuntu). Solid understanding of web hosting architecture — LAMP / LEMP stacks. Proficiency with cPanel/WHM, Plesk, or DirectAdmin control panels. Experience with DNS, mail servers, SSL/TLS, and firewall management. Familiar with MySQL/MariaDB administration and performance tuning. Good understanding of virtualization and cloud-based hosting environments. Knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancing). Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
