Kitchen Helper cum Cleaner (Child Care Center)
This position requires a dedicated individual to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen and surrounding areas within a child care center. The role combines kitchen assistance duties with general cleaning responsibilities to ensure a healthy environment for children and staff.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Kitchen Assistance:
  • Assists in food preparation tasks as directed by the cook such as washing vegetables, preparing ingredients, and cleaning utensils.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including counters, sinks, and storage areas.
  • Follows established food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handwashing and food handling techniques.
  • Cleaning:
  • Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, refrigerators, and microwaves.
  • Cleans and mops kitchen floors regularly.
  • Empties trash bins and maintains cleanliness of storage areas.
  • Cleans and disinfects restrooms and common areas as assigned.
  • May assist with general cleaning tasks throughout the center as needed.

Requirements:

  • Basic food hygiene knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to lift moderate weights (e.g., carrying food supplies).
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Experience in a childcare setting is a plus, but not required.
