Machine Learning Algorithm Research Engineer-Soaring Star Talent Program

Responsibilities
- Team Introduction: Research & Development (R&D) Team. The R&D team is dedicated to building and maintaining industry-leading products that drive global business success, working on core scenarios such as user growth, social features, live streaming, e-commerce consumer side, content creation, and content consumption, and tackling technical challenges in service architecture and infrastructure engineering to ensure system quality, efficiency, and security.
- Collaborate with leading experts to explore cutting-edge technologies and push the boundaries of what is possible, delivering code that serves hundreds of millions of users in a professional, goal-oriented, egalitarian, and collaborative environment.
- Contribute to product development and team shaping with a focus on creativity, growth through challenges, practical problem-solving, and maintaining an agile and inclusive culture (Always Day 1).
- Engage in project work addressing challenges in recommendation systems for a world-leading short-video platform, including cold-start issues, real-time live-streaming recommendations, content diversity, and end-to-end modeling across recall–ranking–re-ranking architectures; explore leveraging large language models (LLMs), graph neural networks (GNNs), and full-lifecycle user behavior sequences to improve accuracy and adaptability.
- Align with the goal of building a streamlined, accurate recommendation system that enhances user experience and drives sustainable business growth.
- PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Strong programming skills with solid software design and coding practices.
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical abilities, strong communication and teamwork, and a passion for technology.
- Familiar with machine learning, natural language processing, and/or data mining; prior experience in recommendation systems, computational advertising, or search engines is a plus.
