Full job description
A sales merchandiser is responsible for product merchandising, generally in large volume stores such as supermarkets. He/she stocks and rotates the product, maintains inventory levels, and sets up promotional displays, working closely with store personnel to ensure profitability and high sales volume.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Responsible for contributing to achieving sales targets established for his/her team.
Achieve sales team target set by week/month.
Ensure that customers are aware and updated on full range of products available.
Sell in consumer/trade promotions and offer pricing planned for the specific period.
Recommend orders by SKU to store manager based on stock replenishment, promotions for that week/month and delivery date.
Submit orders (for fountain and direct deliver customers) to Sales Admin.
Negotiate and secure prominent display areas and additional space as well as placement of equipment (racks, coolers etc).
Provide regular feedback on competitive activities, promotions and new products in the market.
Build rapport with store personnel, manager, supervisor, floor staff and stackers.
Handle customer complaints and requests. Refer to Sales Executives if problem persists.
Responsible for achieving merchandising standards set
Maintain display space on beverage aisle, racks, coolers etc. according to merchandising standards agreed.
Ensure display spaces are fully stocked and replenished.
Build block displays during key selling periods or in line with promotions planned.
Ensure price communicator (either CCSB's or customer's own) on all our products.
Display POSM (point of sales materials) to ensure maximum visibility in-store.
Practice First-In-First-Out (FIFO) on stocks to ensure that products are within expiry dates.
Ensure that backroom stock is also properly stacked and kept in good condition.
Handle products with care to reduce ullages.
Job Requirements
5.5 days work week, half day on Saturday. Basic salary with allowances and commission.
Energetic, fast worker, sales-oriented, resourceful and independent.
Candidate must possess at least GCE 'N' Level or equivalent.
At least 1 year of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Must have strong interpersonal skill and be able to interact with all levels.
Possess initiative, self-motivated, articulate and results-oriented.
Team player with strong negotiation skill.
