Job Description The Hair Salon Manager is responsible for the overall management and smooth daily operations of the hair salon. The role focuses on ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high grooming and hygiene standards, and driving sales and profitability.Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day running of the salon, including reception, hairstylists, assistants and support staff. Lead, supervise and motivate the team to achieve sales targets, service standards and customer satisfaction goals. Plan staff roster and manage manpower to ensure sufficient coverage during operating hours. Handle customer enquiries, appointments, feedback and complaints in a professional and timely manner. Maintain high standards of hairdressing services (cut, colour, perm, treatment, styling) and overall customer experience. Implement and monitor salon SOPs for customer service, hygiene, safety and professional conduct. Plan and execute promotions, packages and marketing activities to increase sales and customer retention. Monitor daily sales performance, service KPIs and customer returns; prepare regular reports for management. Manage product and consumable inventory (hair colours, treatments, shampoos, styling products, towels, etc.), including ordering and stock control. Ensure all tools and equipment (scissors, clippers, colour bowls, machines) are properly maintained, sanitised and safe to use. Conduct regular training and coaching for staff in technical skills, customer service and product knowledge. Participate in recruitment, selection, onboarding and performance appraisal of salon staff. Build and maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers and business partners. Job Requirements Diploma/certificate in Hairdressing, Beauty & Wellness, Business, Hospitality Management or related field preferred. At least 3 years of experience in a hair salon environment, with minimum 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial position. Strong knowledge of hair services (cutting, colouring, perming, rebonding, treatments and styling). Proven leadership and people management skills; able to train, motivate and supervise a diverse team. Customer-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong sales and service mindset; able to promote services/products and achieve targets. Good organisational and problem-solving skills; able to handle operational issues independently. Familiar with POS/booking systems and basic computer skills (MS Office). Able to work retail hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required. Well-groomed, professional appearance and positive working attitude. Ability to communicate in English; additional languages (e.g. Mandarin or other local languages) are an advantage to liaise with different customer groups.
