Job Title: CNC Lathe Programmer Roles & Responsibilities CNC Programming: Develop, edit, and fine‐tune CNC programs to guide lathe machines in producing parts with precision and efficiency. Interpretation of drawings: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to generate accurate machining instructions. Machine Setup: Configure and set up lathe machines based on job requirements, including tool selection, workpiece positioning, and fixture installation; ensure cutting tools and fixtures are in optimal condition. Machine Operation: Operate CNC lathe machines, monitor the production process for quality and consistency, and make real‐time adjustments to machine settings as needed. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks to verify machined parts meet specified tolerances and quality criteria; address any issues that may impact quality. Tool Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on cutting tools, replace them when necessary, and maintain a detailed record of tool changes and maintenance activities. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to CNC machine operation, such as tool wear, machine malfunctions, or programming errors. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and best practices; ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Documentation: Keep records of machine setup, programming modifications, and production data; offer insights and suggestions for process improvements and enhanced efficiency. Qualifications Technical training or certification in CNC programming and machining is preferred. Proven experience as a CNC programmer and operator, particularly with lathe machines. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for CNC programming. Strong knowledge of machining principles, materials, and cutting tools. Exceptional problem‐solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Familiarity with safety protocols and adherence to compliance standards.
