Senior Principal Engineer (System Stability & Planning Department) What the role is Review and assess licensee's proposed Ten-Year Transmission Network Development Plan to ensure compliance with planning criteria for secure and reliable operation of electricity and natural gas systems. Conduct system studies such as contingency analysis, fault level studies, stability studies, underfrequency load shedding scheme review, solar PV penetration analysis, and interdependency studies between electricity and gas systems to ensure sufficient survival time for the gas network and overall system security and stability. Perform system studies to assess impact on the electricity and gas systems with new proposed power plants or consumer installations. Review power plant performance to verify compliance with technical regulatory requirements including on‑site witnessing of generator testing. Evaluate integration of new transmission/generation technologies such as energy storage systems, HVDC, electricity imports, and large‑scale PV generation. Conduct technical reviews of proposed facilities potentially providing ancillary services through the procurement process by EMC. Regularly review code, market rules, and system operation manuals to ensure they remain up‑to‑date. Review facility registration for participation in NEMS and compliance with market rules/system operation manuals, and oversee and coordinate all phases of the registration process. What you will be working on Relevant background or specialization in Engineering studies. Power system studies and analysis including power system dynamics, power flow, natural gas flow, and short circuit analysis; design, commissioning and grid integration studies of renewable energy sources and energy storage system. Team player with good working attitude, initiative and ability to work independently. Desired Qualifications Strong knowledge of power system analysis, contingency studies, and stability assessment. Experience with natural gas system operation and interdependency studies. Familiarity with regulatory requirements for power plants and ancillary service providers. Experience in integrating advanced transmission and generation technologies. Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
