Description Overview Job overview: As a Project Engineer, this position will assist the Project & Process Team Lead in project execution for CAPEX initiatives, with an initial focus on the establishment of a new API manufacturing facility in Singapore.Responsibilities Support delivery of the capital project scope for the establishment of a greenfield API manufacturing facility in Singapore according to the project planLead a diverse team for the design, installation, commissioning and qualification of systems and equipmentEstablish user requirements and translate them to design specifications for the new facilityEnsure that design and construction of systems in work area assigned is compliant to local regulations and cGMP requirements, where requiredWork with contract administrators to ensure contracts are fulfilled on time and can be closed out satisfactorilyWork with Project Controller to ensure healthy operation of the project, particularly with regards to budget and scheduleAct as scheduler for the project, providing inputs to the schedule based on site progressTo support the commissioning and qualification effort of the process equipment and associated systems.To actively seek avenues to improve project operational efficiencyDuring project phase, the individual is expected to be actively involved and at times doing multiple roles to support the overall success of the greenfield project startupMay be assigned to lead investigations in the event of quality and safety non-conformance, whether by suppliers or STAPropose and evaluate modifications to equipment, processes or operations to either improve safety or increase efficiencyManage, nurture and guide subordinate employees / contractors, and conduct effective assessments.Other work arranged by the team leadQualifications Bachelor degree or above in chemical, mechanical, electrical/electronic engineering and other related majorWorking knowledge of scheduling software such as Microsoft ProjectExperience with budget and spend managementAbility to understand and negotiate commercial contracts preferredStrong technical knowledge coupled with hands-on working experience in a pharmaceutical / biotech / fine chemical facility preferredWorking experience in start-ups, commissioning & qualification of process systems in an operating plant is a plusExcellent leadership and communication skillsAbility to lead teams including external contractorsExcellent team player willing to work for the common goalMentoring and coaching skillsExtensive communications with stakeholders in China, ability to speak and write in Mandarin fluently to liaise and work with Mandarin-speaking internal and external partners.Demonstrate appreciation of construction site conditions, knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health highly preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
