Overview The PROFESS Lab is looking to hire a research scientist in the area of organic optoelectronics – focusing on optical spectroscopic characterization of materials, device fabrication and device physics. The project is funded by a grant awarded to the Principal Investigator (Dr. Le Yang). Responsibilities Set up and fine-tune transient and steady-state spectroscopic characterization tools Regularly perform spectroscopic characterization and analysis Prepare samples in wet lab (solutions and thin films); be familiar with common chemicals. Regular use of glovebox is required Fabricate and optimize organic optoelectronic devices, including device characterization and device physics Be motivated for intellectual output e.g. publications and idea generation Be a team player and foster a cohesive and collaborative environment Supervise short-term attachment students Qualifications Ph.D in Physics (including polymer chemistry/physics) or Materials Science and Engineering, or equivalent/related fields Optical spectroscopy and study of material photophysics Good understanding of organic semiconductors and optoelectronics Hands-on wet-lab work with daily glovebox use Basic knowledge of organic semiconductors The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive.
