The jobholder will be part of the Accelerated Development (App Integration) team. The team drives the design, implementation and integration of enterprise data and workflows to facilitate seamless system exchanges and application interoperability with the objective of elevating the enterprise experience. We are looking for highly technical individuals who are passionate about tech, love to solve problems, must be able to code and have a sound engineering mind. We are looking for Lead Engineer/Engineer to develop backend services and integrations to enable seamless communication between enterprise systems and optimize data workflows using modern integration platforms and tools. What you will be working on Develop and maintain backend services with a focus on robust, secure, and efficient REST APIs for system integration and data exchange. Work with tools like N8N, Apache Camel, Apache NiFi, and protocols such as MQTT to create scalable integration solutions. Implement and optimize data streaming and processing pipelines using Kafka. Collaborate with teams to gather and fulfil integration requirements. Conduct integration testing to ensure quality and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system integrations and interfaces. Continuously improve integration performance and scalability. What we are looking for Strong coding skills, particularly in backend system integration. Hands-on experience with Kafka, N8N, Apache Camel, or Apache NiFi. Familiarity with protocols like MQTT and their role in system communication. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or equivalent. Experience with building and deploying applications as containers using Docker. Experience with RDBMS, NoSQL, NodeJS, distributed computing and backend frameworks with expertise in at least one of them. Experience with integrating digital platform services such as API gateways, microservices management, messaging middleware, security, identity, monitoring and logging. Analytical thinker with a focus on scalable, efficient backend solutions. Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach. Effective communicator and team player with the ability to work independently when necessary. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively. Preferably 1-5 years of relevant working experience. All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
