The Role
We are seeking to engage an Infrastructure Engineer (Civil & Structural) to join our team in Singapore. This is an exciting role that offers infrastructure planning and detailed design related to industrial development for oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, renewables, industrial parks, power plants, etc.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Infrastructure planning and detailed design for industrial development for oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, renewables, industrial parks, power plants, etc. in green field or/and brown field, review of existing infrastructure plans in compliance with the regulatory plans.
- Develop sustainable infrastructure concepts, such as water recycling systems, using advanced technology to meet project sustainability targets.
- Conduct site analysis, including earthworks estimation, flood assessments, and renewable energy resource evaluations.
- Engage stakeholders to understand their requirements or concerns, gather planning data, and obtain necessary approvals for project alignment.
- Develop minimum functional specifications for the implementation of essential infrastructure components.
- Prepare utility demand estimates for proposed developments.
- Provide professional assessment of land, environmental, economic, utilities & infrastructures requirement and regulatory compliance impacts and implications.
- Produce utilities routing plans, infrastructure plans and reports.
- The candidate will also be expected to conduct stakeholders' engagement, presentation of the infrastructure plans to the clients, expert committees and consult relevant government agencies as and when directed by the clients.
- Support the project manager in delivering master plans, engineering projects, as well as progress reports within project timelines.
- Perform civil & structural (C&S) design and prepare MTO.
Suitable applicants will be/have:
- Degree in civil engineering from internationally recognised university, preferably recognised by PE Board, Singapore.
- Knowledge and with 1 to 5 years of experience in C&S design, infrastructure and utilities planning for master planning project, such as water supply, drainage system, sewerage system, gas supply, power supply, telecommunication, environment protection and disaster control, etc.
- Experience in earthwork computation to achieve optimised cut and fill volume
- Resourceful and able to work independently with discipline engineers and master planners to manage and deliver the infrastructure planning works for varied type of projects, including liaison with local and statutory authorities, obtaining technical approval for design and details.
- Knowledge and experience in smart, next generation and energy transition infrastructures will be an advantage
- Conversant in preparing infrastructure plans, design and detailing using available software
- Good report writing, communication and presentation skills.
- Good command in spoken and written English and an additional language is beneficial, not just conversational level but for technical presentation and report writing.
- Ability to work within budgets and challenging deadlines.
- Project management experience is advantageous.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team situation
- Willing to travel on short notice.
- Proficiency in QGIS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, STAAD Pro and MS Office
- Conversant in producing plans in CAD and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) format
