Senior Maintenance Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer to champion our 3-Year Maintenance Plan by transforming it into a Preventive Maintenance program and growing existing CAPEX projects to keep chemical plants in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the Yearly Maintenance Plan in collaboration with the Maintenance team, ensuring seamless execution and efficient resource allocation.
  • Design and implement the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program, leveraging risk assessments and asset criticality analysis to identify assets requiring maintenance.
  • Define appropriate type, frequency, and methods for preventive maintenance activities, referencing manufacturer recommendations and legal requirements to guarantee compliance.
  • Determine required procedures, tools, and resources for maintenance tasks, working closely with the Maintenance Planner to finalize scopes of work and optimize maintenance efficiency.
  • Identify and plan Capex projects based on operational or sustainability goals, prepare tender documents, and execute projects in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Conduct inspections to assess engineering work quality and the integrity of existing systems or infrastructure, recommending necessary corrective actions to maintain optimal plant performance.
  • Analyze inspection data and generate actionable insights via 'Work Out Of Inspection' processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive maintenance optimization and promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and asset reliability.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support, perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and develop corrective and preventive action plans to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Assist and mentor technicians on complex technical issues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Perform basic quality control checks on assets and processes, ensuring adherence to established standards and regulations.
  • Oversee and coordinate subcontractors and vendors, serving as the main liaison in alignment with contract management procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits, including authority inspections and customer assessments, maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the process.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance engineering, possessing a strong foundation in maintenance operations and safety protocols.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance, operations, safety protocols, and product knowledge, with familiarity with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices.
  • Proficient in data analysis and capable of translating insights into actionable improvements, driving business growth and competitiveness.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards (e.g., API, ASME); familiarity with API 653 and/or 570 is a plus, demonstrating expertise in specialized areas.
