AUTONOMY ENGINEER — (PERCEPTION/VISUAL SLAM), Early Careers At LionsBot, we build autonomous robots that combine perception, localization, and decision‐making to operate safely and intelligently in real‐world environments. Our embodied AI systems go beyond simulation, delivering robust autonomy that interacts seamlessly with people and dynamic surroundings. The Role Join our Autonomy team to design and deploy perception and visual SLAM pipelines that power our next generation of robots. You'll work across sensor calibration, algorithm development, and embedded optimization, collaborating with navigation, mapping, and hardware engineers to deliver integrated autonomy stacks for fleet deployment. Key Responsibilities Develop real‐time perception pipelines for detection, tracking, and freespace estimation. Implement and optimize visual SLAM with relocalization and place recognition. Integrate outputs with navigation and safety systems. Calibrate and tune RGB‐D, stereo, LiDAR, and IMU sensors. Evaluate and select sensors and algorithms balancing accuracy, cost, and compute. Integrate and optimize deep learning models for on‐robot inference. Maintain strong collaboration with cross‐functional engineering teams. Requirements Bachelor's in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 0–2 years' robotics/computer vision experience or exceptional academic projects. Proficient in C++17+ and Python on Linux. Experience with ROS/ROS2 and sensor calibration. Hands‐on with perception or SLAM pipelines. Familiarity with OpenCV, PCL, and basic deep learning frameworks. Nice to Have Embedded/ARM optimization experience. Knowledge of GTSAM, Ceres, or g2o. Experience with semantic mapping or modern tracking frameworks.
