Marketing Actuary – Southeast Asia & Indian Subcontinent
We are a focused life reinsurer based in Switzerland, providing life reinsurance solutions to life insurers across the globe. As part of our expansion strategy, we have established a service company in Singapore to assist in developing opportunities in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Indian subcontinent.
Role Overview
The
Marketing Actuary
will play a key role in our growth by analysing market opportunities, building relationships, performing market research, and positioning the company as a trusted reinsurance partner. The successful candidate will work closely with actuaries, underwriters, and solution developers from our Swiss head office.
Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive market intelligence by conducting in-depth research on target product lines and pinpointing emerging growth opportunities in Southeast Asia and India.
Drive business development by mapping and prioritising opportunities, with a primary focus on Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Generate actionable leads for the Swiss head office, ensuring all opportunities meet both underwriting standards and regional regulations.
Establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including insurers, consultants, and brokers within the dynamic life insurance sector.
Champion compliance by staying abreast of Singaporean regulatory requirements and ensuring all activities align with local guidelines.
Act as a regional ambassador by representing the company at industry events, fostering collaboration between local partners and the Swiss head office, and delivering insightful progress reports to leadership.
Requirements
Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline—ideally with fellowship status from a recognised actuarial organisation.
At least eight years’ experience in life insurance or reinsurance, with a proven ability to drive business development initiatives throughout India and Southeast Asia.
Comprehensive knowledge of life insurance products, pricing strategies, and underwriting methodologies.
Strong history of recognising market trends and implementing effective actions to secure new business or boost profitability, alongside a solid understanding of regulatory requirements in SE Asia and India.
Experience in analysing data and conducting market research.
Valuable network of established professional relationships spanning Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Exceptional analytical skills and strategic vision.
Expertise with CRM systems and modern digital collaboration tools—such as Salesforce and MS Teams.
