Overview
Facility Engineer
– Brenntag
The Facility Engineer will lead the overall facilities management of the site. The Facility Engineer will oversee and may perform the safety, security, and general maintenance activities at the site to maintain a safe and pleasant working environment for all employees and visitors.
Responsibilities
Maintenance of building facilities and security at the site. Coordinate and execute inspection, testing, general maintenance and repair of critical site systems and equipment when necessary.
Ensure that all equipment and other facilities are working properly.
Manage critical systems and equipment including power/UPS, back-up generator and fuel supply; HVAC, plumbing/water supply, security doors/alarms/cameras, and fire safety systems and equipment.
Provide situation/status updates to the Facility Manager on issues that affect operation and ensure critical systems/equipment are fully operational.
Initiate interventions to solve facilities problems and develop a system for cleaning, repair and maintenance of facilities.
Deliver timely and efficient solutions to facility-related requests.
Liaise with contractors on maintenance/repair; supervise on-site activities and review risk assessments submitted by contractors prior to work commencement.
Ensure required safety requirements are in place prior to commencement of work and comply with management systems practices.
Follow the company’s procedures and safety rules stated in the WSH Risk Assessment; avoid unsafe or negligent acts; use required personal protective equipment.
Participate in protecting the environment, preventing pollution, and promoting sustainable practices as identified in policy statements.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge And Skills Requirement
GCE ‘O’ Level with knowledge of facility management principles and techniques.
At least 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience for senior position.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Resourcefulness, strategic thinking and planning skills.
Ability to manage multiple, complex, ongoing tasks and projects.
High level of integrity, judgment and follow-through.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
