About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join the Major Gifts team as Assistant Director. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented professional to drive philanthropic outcomes and make a lasting impact on the university.

Main Responsibilities
  • Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship: Develop and manage relationships with donors to maximise philanthropic outcomes.
  • Fundraising Strategies: Employ a strategic approach to fundraising, incorporating major gifts, capital fundraising, corporate donations, grants, and bequests.
  • Leveraging University Resources: Collaborate with university leadership, faculty, and volunteers to advance relationships and gift discussions.
  • Gift Structuring and Closure: Lead and facilitate gift structuring to optimise donor's gift purpose and manage the process of closing the gift.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
  • Experience in Higher Education/Not-For-Profit fundraising, or relevant business development/consultative sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex relationships and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to liaise, consult, and negotiate confidently and professionally.
  • Excellent written communication skills and extensive experience in developing business cases, proposals, and presentations.
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Sound acumen, strong professional presence, and a collegial work style that promotes teamwork, creativity, and open communication.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A global, socially conscious mindset with an understanding and appreciation of cultural and intercultural sensitives.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
