Job Title: Part-Time Lecturer

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore invites qualified candidates to apply for a position as Part-Time Lecturer.

The successful candidate will supervise laboratory sessions for the course IE3017 Computer Communication , which is offered to students taking NTU B.Eng EEE & B.Eng IEM Programmes.

The main objective of the course is to impart fundamental concepts in computer communications, proceeding from data communications over a data link to transfer of information across local-area networks and wide-area networks.

The Part-time Lecturer will be responsible for supervising the lab module E3017L , which is tied to this course.

The lab description includes a 3-hour session on LAN Switch Operations, consisting of two parts:

Part I: Spanning-Tree Protocol in switched LAN

  • To study the principle of spanning-tree algorithm
  • To study the characteristics of LAN switches in the presence of spanning-tree algorithm

Part II: Multiple VLAN operations

  • To study the principle of virtual LAN (VLAN)
  • Create multiple VLANs and trunk links between switches

The successful candidate should have extensive relevant industry experience and/or at least a PhD degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and a passion for teaching.

Past teaching experience in a similar subject at Undergraduate Level (for IE3017) is preferred.

The successful candidate is expected to assume duty in August and commit at least 5 months to this position.
