Job Title: Senior M&E BIM Coordinator

The Senior M&E BIM Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring seamless integration of Mechanical & Electrical systems in our major infrastructure project. He/She will be responsible for developing and managing detailed 3D BIM models, coordinating with design, construction, and engineering teams, and preparing detailed BIM execution plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BIM Modeling & Coordination:
    • Develop detailed 3D BIM models for M&E systems to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
    • Coordinate with other trades (civil, structural, architectural) to resolve clashes and conflicts through clash detection tools.
    • Prepare detailed BIM execution plans to ensure workflows align with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Design Support & Documentation:
    • Assist in integrating M&E design systems and coordinate with engineers to ensure accurate representation in BIM models.
    • Create and maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built models, coordination reports, and system specifications.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between the M&E team and stakeholders (designers, architects, contractors) to ensure effective communication and project progress.
    • Attend regular project coordination meetings and provide technical support for BIM-related queries and issues.
  • Quality Control & Compliance:
    • Conduct quality control checks on BIM models for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
    • Ensure all BIM models and data comply with the client's BIM execution plan and local regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • BIM certification is an advantage.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Building Information Modelling (BIM), specifically in the M&E trade, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.
    • Solid understanding of M&E systems design, construction processes, and integration with BIM workflows.
    • Familiarity with BIM software tools such as Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, and BIM360.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Revit MEP for modeling M&E systems.
    • Knowledge of coordination tools like Navisworks and BIM 360 for clash detection and model coordination.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving design and construction issues.
