We are seeking a skilled
Database Administrator (DBA)
to manage, secure, and optimize enterprise databases while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness. The role requires hands-on expertise in database provisioning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and automation, with a strong focus on balancing usability with security. The ideal candidate will be passionate about implementing best practices, ensuring business continuity, and working with both on-premise and cloud-based database solutions.
Overview
Key Responsibilities
Provision and manage databases with required licenses.
Implement robust data security measures and recovery controls.
Monitor database health, performance, user access, and security.
Configure and manage database parameters for optimization.
Establish configuration management and automation for disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Support systems to ensure high usability while meeting stringent security requirements.
Perform regular database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and scalability improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance database operations.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
Strong passion for automation, standardization, and implementing best practices.
Relevant IT experience in database administration, including (but not limited to):
MySQL
MongoDB
Hands-on experience
System DBA tasks (database management and security)
SQL programming
Database performance tuning and scalability
High availability technologies and disaster recovery planning
Experience with cloud database services such as AWS RDS or similar technologies is an added advantage.
