Part-time Teacher of Arabic (Home Languages Programme)3 Nov 2025UWCSEA Dover has a vacancy for a Part-Time Teacher of Arabic for our Home Languages Programme (HLP) from 1 December 2025. The Home Languages Programme is for students who want to maintain a language spoken at home but who do not study this language as part of the academic curriculum during the school day at appropriate level. This programme offers students the opportunity to gain cultural understanding of the language, as well as improve their linguistic skills to gain age appropriate fluency in their home language. The students' ages are from 4 to 16 years old. Classes are taught in small groups of 3 to 6 students of similar ages and linguistic levels and will take place after school (or at lunchtime for some younger students). Main Responsibilities Plan, prepare and teach classes as required. Use digital resources to enhance students' learning. Provide samples of students' learning in the school online learning platform for parents to follow students' progress. Provide feedback to parents Collaborate with the other teachers of the Arabic Language Department in developing an Arabic Language Curriculum. Person Specifications Applicants must be degree holders with language teaching experience. Candidates without teaching qualifications but possess experience teaching age groups from 4 to 16 years old with appropriate resources are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have the ability to teach Arabic to students who speak Arabic as their home language or are Heritage speakers of Arabic.
