Overview
The Buyer ensures materials and services are sourced and delivered on time, at optimal cost, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. She/he will collaborate with cross-functional teams including planning, production, engineering, and finance, while managing supplier relationships to support business continuity, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Description
Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for the procurement, storage, and distribution of goods and services to optimize operational efficiency.
Conduct thorough research and evaluation of suppliers, negotiate favorable contracts, and cultivate strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Analyze market trends, pricing dynamics, and product quality to secure the best value and align purchasing decisions with organizational goals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to accurately forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
Monitor and control inventory to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce excess, and minimize waste.
Oversee the end-to-end procurement process from requisition through delivery, ensuring full compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements to enhance overall procurement efficiency.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior purchasing team members to foster professional development and strengthen team capabilities.
Stay informed on evolving industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge and ensure operational excellence.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in vendor management and supplier relationship management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Must have supervisory experience.
