PLASTIC R&D ENGINEER
We are supporting our client who is currently looking for a Plastics Research & Development Engineer for their organization.

THE ROLE
This role will work alongside the Head of Technology & Commercialization in all technical and operational activities related to the polymeric solutions portfolio. The responsibilities include managing laboratory operations, developing new polymer solutions compatible & integrable with clients' processes, conducting tests and trials, and implementing technology solutions for client projects.
As the Plastic R&D Engineer, you will process, design, and optimize solutions for efficient and cost-effective polymer production. Conduct tests and analyze data to ensure quality and performance of polymer materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in polymer science or materials engineering.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Technical Development
Support the development and implementation of new polymeric marking solutions, including formulation and application of markers/codes in various polymer materials, compatible and integrable with client processes and specifications, scalable and cost-efficient.
Conduct and oversee R&D experiments and trials, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Analyze test results and provide detailed technical reports to the Head of Technology & Commercialization.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) and prototypes demonstrating technology applications.
2. Lab & Testing Management
Manage day-to-day lab operations, including equipment maintenance, procurement, and inventory management.
Ensure lab safety and configuration to meet project needs.
Design & develop cost-efficient polymeric materials and solutions for client process integration.
Coordinate testing schedules and oversee execution of tests and pilots.
Maintain documentation of testing activities, results, and processes.
Implement and oversee HES protocols for safety.
3. Client Technology Implementation
Assist in planning and executing technology implementation projects for clients.
Act as a technical liaison, providing support and troubleshooting.
Participate in client meetings, explaining technical concepts clearly.
Support the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
4. Project Coordination
Collaborate with R&D, Product Development, and Engineering teams.
Monitor project progress and address technical challenges.
Provide updates and feedback on project status and risks.
Contribute to continuous improvement through innovation and technical excellence.
5. Additional Tasks
Organize technology demonstrations, client visits, and workshops.
Identify new opportunities for technology commercialization and market expansion.
Stay updated with advancements in polymer science.
Mentor junior engineers or technicians as needed.
Perform any other tasks requested by the client.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in polymer applications or related technical roles.
Experience in laboratory management, testing, and project implementation.
Strong understanding of polymer characteristics and processing methods.
Hands-on experience with R&D experiments and pilot projects.
Knowledge of HES regulations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and innovation focus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory management software.
