This role will be part of our Cocoa business and we provide great natural cocoa ingredients to customers all over the world, working with partners across the supply chain to create indulgent treats for consumers and a positive future for cocoa. The portfolio of our cocoa company includes both legacy brands and newer faces; de Zaan, Unicao, Joanes, Macao etc. All are market leaders that can meet our clients’ specific regional or global cocoa needs.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a safety-first culture and ensure employee engagement in EHS initiatives.
Provide training and resources to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
Monitor and report on key EHS metrics, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Stay updated on changes in EHS regulations, standards, and best practice relevant to the industry.
Serve as primary point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding EHS matters.
Develop and oversee emergency response plans and safety drills.
Manage waste disposal and environmental sustainability programs to minimize the company’s ecological footprint.
To be successful in the role, the incumbent should have the following qualities:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety or related field.
MOM registered WSH Officer and qualified Fire Safety Manager with at least 5 – 10 years of relevant working experience in manufacturing or processing environment preferred.
Familiar with local regulatory requirements related to workplace safety and health, and all other aspects of safety.
Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to exercise initiative, manage pressure, multitask and work independently in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Possess ISO and OHSAS knowledge and implementation. Certificates in QEHS Internal Auditing (ISO 9001, ISO 140001, OHSAS 18001) will be significantly advantageous.
