Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to assume dual responsibilities as the Data Protection Officer and Compliance Officer for the Company Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act) and AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism) provisions, while also managing legal risk in real estate transactions, leasing, and sales administration. As Legal Counsel, you will provide day-to-day legal and compliance support, focusing on mitigating legal risks and ensuring the company’s activities align with regulatory requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to legal oversight and will involve close collaboration with senior management, external counsel, and other key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Data Protection and Compliance Oversight:Assume the official roles of Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Compliance Officer for the Company Group. Ensure the Company Group’s compliance with PDPA and AML/CFT provisions, overseeing all relevant legal, regulatory, and operational frameworks. Establish, update, and enforce robust data protection, privacy, and AML/CFT compliance policies and procedures for the Company Group. Stay abreast of the latest developments in real estate law, data protection regulations, and anti-money laundering legislations to maintain compliance across all business activities. Oversee the development and implementation of training programs for employees on legal compliance, risk management, and best practices related to data protection and anti-money laundering. Legal Oversight of Real Estate Transactions:Supervise and provide legal oversight of leasing and sales administration processes for the Company Group’s commercial and residential properties. Provide legal analysis, recommendations, and proactive solutions for real estate transactions, including acquisitions, developments, and properties owned by the Company Group. Lead the due diligence processes for real estate transactions, ensuring compliance with AML/CFT provisions and other relevant laws. Negotiate, review, and draft key legal documents related to real estate transactions, including options, sale agreements, leases, subleases, licenses, and financing documents.
