Description The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely execution and delivery. This role involves preparing detailed plans, analyzing progress, and providing accurate forecasts to support decision-making for complex engineering projects. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain project schedules using planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project). Define work breakdown structures (WBS) and align schedules with project scope and deliverables. Prepare baseline schedules and update progress regularly. Track project progress against baseline and identify variances. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including S-curves and earned value analysis. Highlight risks and delays, and propose recovery plans. Interface with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather progress data. Support project management in client reporting and schedule presentations. Perform schedule risk analysis and scenario planning. Provide input for resource planning and cost control integration. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline. Minimum 5+ years of planning experience in oil & gas, offshore, or large-scale EPC projects. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project. Strong understanding of project controls, WBS, and earned value management. Knowledge of FPSO or offshore project planning is an advantage. Preferred Skills Analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
