Scope As the Staff Engineer – Embedded MCU Software at Ambiq, you will develop and test core MCU functions within the AmbiqSuite SDK on Ambiq SoC devices and emulation platforms. Your work will involve memory management (Cache, MMU, MPU), data movement (DMA), and general MCU management. You will also help define and implement the multicore software framework and related infrastructure, collaborating closely with architecture and SoC design teams. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain HAL interfaces for MCU clocking, power management, MCU control, and other general MCU management subsystems. Develop and maintain trusted firmware HAL and porting layers to enable secure and scalable embedded platforms. Create examples and software test cases for these blocks. Lead pre‐silicon verification on FPGA and post‐silicon bring‐up, performance optimization, and debugging. Develop real‐time OS ports for Ambiq MCUs. Support design verification, field engineers, and key customers as needed. Requirements MS in ECE or Computer Science with 3+ years of experience, or BS with 5+ years, including at least 2 years focused on MCU management subsystems. Deep understanding of ARM architectures (M‐profile preferred). Experience with MCU clocking, power management, MCU control, and general MCU subsystems. Experience with Trusted Firmware‐M, Platform Security Architecture, and CyberCell is an advantage. Embedded C and assembly language experience for low‐level code and system initialization. Embedded RTOS expertise; Zephyr and FreeRTOS preferred. Proficiency with at least one ARM IDE (Keil, IAR, Eclipse, Ozone, etc.). Hands‐on lab debugging skills (oscilloscope, logic analyzer). Experience with Jira, Confluence, and collaboration tools. Proficient with git source control. Understanding of software testing and test automation. Excellent problem‐solving for complex system‐level HW/SW debug. Proficient in scripting; Python especially desirable. Strong communication and documentation skills.
