Job Overview:

The Datacenter Technician position involves supporting data center engineers with on-site physical deployments, racking, stacking, and cabling servers, power distribution units, and switches.

  • Perform server component replacements such as CPU, RAM, drives and boards.
  • Submit requests for maintenance to equipment manufacturers, ship and receive gear to and from remote locations and vendors.
  • Work through assigned tickets and work requests effectively, perform basic diagnosis and repairs to hardware in line with internal service level agreements.
  • Assist data center engineers in debugging network, hardware, and operating system-related issues.
  • Assist with asset management, track and monitor data center hardware and component inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on experience with servers, hardware, and networking is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrate passion for data center hardware and infrastructure.
  • Express interest in networking, hardware, and operating systems.
  • Develop excellent verbal and written communication skills, a collaborative nature, and a friendly can-do attitude.
  • Utilize logical analysis and problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
  • Ability to be on your feet all-day.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be on-call outside of business hours for escalations as needed.
