Job Purpose To optimize product assortment, presentation, and sales performance across furniture categories by translating market trends and consumer insights into effective merchandising strategies. The role ensures that the right products are displayed in the right way, at the right time, and at the right price to maximize profitability and enhance customer experience. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute visual and product merchandising plans that align with brand positioning and seasonal themes. Work with buyers to curate and plan furniture assortments tailored to target customer profiles, price points, and market trends. Analyze sales performance and stock movements to recommend range adjustments, markdowns, or new product introductions. Coordinate store layouts and display zoning to optimize traffic flow and category visibility. 2. Product Presentation & Visual Execution Create in-store displays and product setups that effectively communicate lifestyle concepts and drive sales. Supervise showroom setups for new collections, ensuring styling consistency and brand coherence. Develop planograms, visual guidelines, and merchandising manuals for retail teams. Collaborate with marketing to integrate seasonal campaigns and product storytelling into the retail environment. 3. Market & Trend Analysis Research local and international furniture trends, color palettes, materials, and finishes. Study competitors’ pricing, display concepts, and assortment strategies. Provide insights to product development and sourcing teams to influence future designs and collections. 4. Inventory & Performance Management Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock and healthy sell-through rates. Work closely with supply chain teams to align delivery schedules with promotional periods or showroom rotations. Review sales data by category, style, and store location to identify underperforming or high-potential SKUs. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with retail operations, marketing, and sourcing to coordinate launches, campaigns, and showroom updates. Liaise with factory and product development teams to understand materials, craftsmanship, and value propositions for staff training and customer communication. Support retail staff training on product knowledge, features, and storytelling to improve conversion. 6. Store & Regional Support Conduct regular store visits to audit merchandising compliance and gather feedback on customer reactions. Support new store openings or refurbishments, from layout planning to on-site merchandising setup. Provide feedback to design and production teams based on consumer interactions and preferences observed in-store. Key Requirements Education & Experience: Diploma or Degree in Merchandising, Retail Management, Interior Design, Marketing, or related field. 3–7 years of experience in retail merchandising, preferably within furniture, home décor, or lifestyle categories. Proven understanding of consumer behavior, visual merchandising principles, and retail space planning. Skills & Attributes: Strong aesthetic sense with a good eye for color, proportion, and space. Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel or BI tools for sales and inventory analysis. Excellent coordination, planning, and communication skills. Ability to balance creativity with commercial priorities. Willingness to travel for store visits, exhibitions, or sourcing trips. Performance Indicators Sell-through rate and category profitability.
