We're looking for a Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager to join our team - someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in their craft, and can confidently support the Head Chef in leading the brigade. This role is perfect for a chef with strong leadership skills who is ready to take ownership of operations while still being hands-on in the kitchen.
What you'll do:
- Lead daily kitchen operations - oversee prep, service, and plating with consistency and efficiency.
- Support the Head Chef - step up in their absence, ensuring smooth execution and high standards are maintained.
- Mentor and train the team - guide junior chefs, share skills, and help build a motivated and skilled kitchen crew.
- Resource & supplier management - oversee stock levels, work with suppliers, and find ways to improve cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
- Maintain standards - ensure food safety, hygiene, and quality are consistently upheld.
- Menu collaboration - contribute ideas for seasonal specials and assist in refining recipes.
- Take ownership - bring a proactive, solution-driven approach to managing both the people and the operations side of the kitchen.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef de Partie, or Kitchen Manager in a café or restaurant setting.
- Strong culinary skills with a passion for fresh, quality ingredients .
- Natural leadership and excellent communication skills.
- Highly organised, resourceful, and operationally savvy , with a knack for problem-solving.
- Able to manage inventory, suppliers, and workflow efficiently.
- Hands-on, reliable, and committed to delivering consistency and excellence .
