Look no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Service Engineer with Mechanical and hydraulic competence. The purpose of this role is to supervise the structural steel repairs, including welding, fabrication, and modifications on Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) vessels and related equipment. You will ensure that all steelwork adheres to industry standards and vessel safety regulations, while leading a team of engineers and subcontractors. In your role, you are require in-depth knowledge of steel structures and the ability to manage projects efficiently and safely, ensuring high-quality service for MacGregor and third-party products when necessary More tasks and responsibilities Steel Work Supervision: Supervise structural steel repairs, including welding, fabrication, and modifications on RoRo vessels, ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards. Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, corrective actions, and upgrades on MacGregor equipment, including RoRo ramps, doors, and hatches. Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of steel structures and mechanical systems to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Project Management: Lead and manage subcontractors during larger steel repair projects, ensuring the work is completed on time and within budget. Customer Support: Establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers, providing technical support and feedback to the relevant teams. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards and site-specific safety protocols. Travel overseas occasionally (approximately 20% of the time). Reporting directly to the Operations Superintendent. The position will be based in MacGregor's office in Singapore. What you'll need to succeed As a person you are a solutions-oriented individual. To excel in this role, you must be customer-focused, collaborative, and possess excellent communication skills. Ideally you have: Worked as a mechanical engineer or studied equivalent education Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar industry Knowledge of products designed by MacGregor and/or of MacGregor drawing handling system is an advantage Experience working in ports, onboard ships, and offshore environments is preferred.
