Laboratory Assistant The personnel will report to the Head of Department (HOD)/Science and participate in the day‐to‐day running of the science laboratories, performing any other duties as assigned by the HOD/Science and School Leaders. Responsibilities Support Science teachers with science lessons and programmes, including preparing, clearing and cleaning apparatus. Set up visual aids and info‐tech equipment used in the Science Department. Manipulate and maintain visual aids, info‐tech equipment including computers, notebooks, data loggers and sensors used in the Science Department. Maintain general cleanliness, operational functions and safety of the Science Laboratories (including bench tops, taps, fittings, equipment, cupboard and locker contents). Replace broken glassware from stock and be responsible for all equipment used in the teaching of science. Prepare chemical solutions and replenish stock. Inspect, unpack and check apparatus and chemicals (including overhauling when necessary). Maintain an inventory of stock and keep a stock book and breakage record to indicate necessary replacements. Check and replenish the First Aid Kits in the science laboratories. Assist Administration Manager in stock take and checking of safety and medical supplies. Support the school's Green & Environmental Stainability Initiative – Greenova (which consists of level‐wide programmes and project work, and specific programmes for selected students) in the initiative's related administrative tasks, logistics and housekeeping matters. Support teachers in the use of Eco‐Pond, Eco‐Garden and Hydroponics cum Aeroponics systems. Maintain the school's biological garden (light manual chores). Stock take Math resources in Math Rooms at the end of the year. #J-18808-Ljbffr
