Manager, Building Systems

Overview As part of the engineering building systems team, you will be responsible for the good maintenance of mechanical systems such as air-conditioning systems including chiller plants, air handling units/stations, fan coil units, mechanical ventilation, engineering smoke control, sprinkler systems, total gas flooding systems, water monitors, water reticulation, lifts/escalators/travellators, and pneumatic waste conveyance systems. You will also be involved in innovative efforts to improve equipment performance and productivity of work processes. This includes establishing a digitalisation roadmap, partnerships with innovative solution providers, trial and implementation of wireless Internet of Things (IoT) platforms to support sensorisation and digital twinning of M&E systems, and energy-savings trials with scaling if the ROI justifies the business case. Improvement of the resiliency of key mechanical systems is a key part of the work scope to safeguard operations as passenger flow increases and equipment ages. Your ability to introduce innovative solutions for better oversight, predictive maintenance, and greater resiliency and robustness will help CAG achieve high availability and minimal downtime for customers. Job responsibilities Manage Mechanical & Electrical Operations and Maintenance Contracts Manage and carry out end-of-life projects in Singapore Changi Airport, implementing improvement/replacement works to enhance facilities; include cost estimates, tender preparation and calling, evaluation and award, and project management Collaborate with stakeholders and airport partners to manage work processes and minimise impact to airport/terminals operations Review existing work procedures and processes with stakeholders, proposing enhancements Conduct studies with innovative solution providers, trial and implement innovative solutions Study and develop predictive maintenance regimes and condition monitoring to increase efficiency and productivity Collaborate with local academia/companies to adopt new technologies/materials to improve maintenance processes Participate in digitisation/innovation and Reliability Centered Maintenance analyses and initiatives Ensure adherence to quality standards, health & safety and statutory regulations; undertake administrative tasks (e.g., reporting, procurement processing, budgeting)Carry out energy-savings implementations in line with sustainability targets Assist in tenancy-related works with complex M&E requirements Support audits for systems under your charge (e.g., ISO audits, internal audits, CAAS audits)Job requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering At least 8 years of related experience in Air-conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation or Mechanical systems Knowledge of M&E maintenance practices and efficiency standards Analytical with strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high motivation for excellence Able to interpret technical drawings Knowledge of IT networks and Power BI is an advantage Additional notes Due to the specialised nature of the roles and training investment in AES officers and the Airside Professional Shift Team (APST), as well as project development in the Changi East Development Cluster, cross-cluster applications that could incur additional costs due to rotations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
