Overview
Airwallex is hiring a DevOps Engineer to lead the design of our DevOps strategy and work with cross-functional teams to evolve cloud infrastructure optimized for performance, scalability and security to support growth. The role involves building a globally distributed, PCI DSS compliant platform using GCP and Kubernetes, with a focus on security and automation.
What you’ll do
Lead the design of the DevOps strategy and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and evolve cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability and security.
Work across multiple countries, owning Data and AI infrastructure globally.
Develop operational platform management capabilities, observability and detection to reduce time to discovery and increase stability while maintaining agility and security.
Build consensus among DevOps Engineers across geographies and feature teams on tools and practices, and translate that consensus into agreed standards.
Role based in Singapore or Shanghai.
Responsibilities

Design and implement platforms to resolve fast-paced, evolving success measures.
Collaborate in a collaborative, innovative, customer-first environment.
Be naturally curious to understand customer needs.
Brainstorm with colleagues to find the best solution for problems.
Who you are
We look for people who meet the minimum qualifications. Preferred qualifications are helpful but not mandatory.
Experience designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
Automating cloud-based IaaS/PaaS deployments using modern GitOps/DevOps techniques.
Strong focus on operational metrics such as MTTR and MTTD and continuous improvement of these metrics.
Passion for automation and repeatable processes.
Deep exposure to public clouds (GCP, AWS or Azure), Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with a mainstream programming language (Java, Go, Python or Rust).
Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Argo, etc.).
Experience with data streaming tools (Debezium, Kafka, Flink, Pinot).
Strong understanding of OS, platform and network security practices and architectures on Linux-based systems.
