Senior Legal Counsel, Asia

Roles & Responsibilities Championing the Legal function at Scan Global Logistics, Asia; Defining what success looks like and making it happen About the role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal professional to join our Global Legal & Compliance team. Operating within a matrix organization, the successful candidate will report to the Global General Counsel and Regional CEO, Asia. Based in our Singapore office, this role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the company’s operations within Asia, remain fully compliant with applicable legal, regulatory, and corporate governance standards. This full-time, office-based role is located in the Downtown Core Central Region, Singapore. What you'll be doing Provide legal advice and support to various departments within the company. Ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents. Support with internal audits and compliance checks together with the Global Compliance team. Representing the company in dealings with external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, government agencies and other external stakeholders Project Management What we're looking for Strong legal and compliance expertise, with the ability to interpret, apply, and adapt legal principles in fast-evolving business contexts. Experience in the freight forwarding or shipping industries is preferred, with sound understanding of commercial and operational dynamics. Demonstrates strategic judgment; able to balance legal integrity with commercial pragmatism, and to distinguish between ideal outcomes and what is practical for the business. Commercially astute and solutions-oriented, with a track record of providing advice that enables business growth while managing risk responsibly. Agile and adaptable, thrives in environments where priorities shift and decisions must be made on the go, maintaining clarity under pressure. High emotional intelligence (EQ) builds trust, communicates with tact, and manages sensitive issues with empathy and composure. Collaborative mindset, capable of working both independently and across multidisciplinary teams to achieve organizational objectives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders and influence decisions constructively.
