Description Overview Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Teams meet two to four times yearly in person to align on strategy and execution. The company is founder-led, profitable, and growing. We are hiring a System Software Engineer for Java Runtimes, tooling, and ecosystem to focus on the Java ecosystem. The role will deliver the best possible Java runtimes and supporting tooling in Ubuntu, enabling Ubuntu users to access the wider Java ecosystem and deploy mission-critical Java applications securely and efficiently on large-scale Ubuntu estates. The role also aims to ensure the cutting edge of Java innovation is available to Ubuntu users for future open source developments around the JVM. Location: This role will be based remotely in the APAC region.
