What you’ll achieve
As the Director of AI-Powered Engineering, you will lead the strategic shift to an AI-first software development model. You will be responsible for building, growing, and directing an organization of AI Platform Engineers, AI-Assisted Application Engineers, and Architects. Your core mission is to set the vision, strategy, and operational excellence for this new paradigm, ensuring a seamless, high-velocity human-AI collaboration that drives innovation and business value across Dell\'s global ecosystem. This role requires a unique blend of technical mastery, business acumen, and a proven ability to lead and inspire large, diverse teams in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision: Define and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for the AI-Powered Engineering organization.
Multinational Collaboration: Direct collaboration across diverse, globally distributed teams and stakeholders, ensuring cohesive execution of the AI strategy.
Entrepreneurial Innovation: Champion a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to take calculated risks and explore new AI-driven solutions to complex, unstructured problems.
Organizational Management: Lead, mentor, and scale a large, multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of psychological safety, continuous learning, and innovation.
Operational Excellence: Implement and refine operational protocols for AI agent-driven development, optimizing workflows for speed, quality, and transparency.
Human-in-the-Loop Governance: Establish and enforce governance models that ensure the mandatory Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) principles are integrated into all critical workflows, maintaining accountability and quality.

Essential Requirements
20+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering and leadership , with at least 5 years in a director position leading large engineering organization.
Proven track record of
managing a large-scale,
multinational engineering team , demonstrating the ability to navigate diverse cultures and business practices to achieve a unified goal.
Demonstrated
entrepreneurial experience
(e.g.,
founding a startup , leading a major product from concept to market, or driving a significant initiative) and proven expertise in AI/ML platforms and MLOps in integrating large language models (LLMs) and other
AI services into software development lifecycle
(SDLC) workflows.
Experience with Dell’s specific product portfolio
(HCI, Server, Storage) and a deep understanding of the enterprise technology market. Deeper knowledge on VMW, RH, MS HCL product enablement technologies are highly appreciated.
Strong business acumen, with experience managing budgets, P&L, and defining business cases for technical investments and mastery of soft skills including critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to foster a culture of open feedback and continuous improvement.
