The candidate will play a crucial role in implementing the CAD Trust strategic work program and supporting efforts to shape transparent data practices in global carbon markets.
This opportunity represents an exciting chance to contribute to solving the global climate challenge through open data and cross-sector collaboration. You will join a core team of a young organization straddling climate policy, finance, and technology with global exposure, develop skills and be given the opportunity to build responsibility as you grow.
Roles And Responsibilities
The Policy and Strategy Analyst will assist the Director for Strategy and Outreach with research, writing, analytical, stakeholder engagement, and administrative tasks related to key projects, partnerships, and ongoing governance. Specifically, you will:
Support the development and/or operations of projects related to the public good use cases of the CAD Trust data platform, often with external partners, and help the CAD Trust Secretariat and governing bodies evaluate success.
Support the smooth functioning of the CAD Trust collaborative governance model by providing administrative and analytical support to the User Forum and/or other bodies or initiatives as required.
Support the development of knowledge products and other materials (e.g. white papers, briefs, slide decks) on the topics of carbon market policy or industry developments related to data needs and uses; how transparency technology can support the development of high integrity carbon markets; globally interoperable data infrastructure; and similar.
Support external engagements on topics of interoperable infrastructure, carbon credit accounting, standard data practices and similar themes.
Support the continuous development of the CAD Trust strategy and work programme.
Support internal coordination and outreach initiatives.
Desired Competencies And Skills
The successful candidate is likely to have:
A bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, business, finance or a related field, with a demonstrated interest in climate change mitigation or sustainable development. Master’s degree a plus.
1-3 years of experience as a Policy or Business Analyst, or a customer facing role related to data products, ideally in the sustainability space.
Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences in clear written documents, presentations, and email.
Strong organisational skills, ideally with proven experience managing communication and scheduling for multiple projects or stakeholder groups.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, showing balance of keen attention to detail with ability to reflect on strategic implications.
Experience with data analytics (i.e., structuring and cleaning a dataset to answer a specific question), with understanding of data quality, format and availability considerations.
A track record of teamwork and ability to produce high-quality results and outputs with limited supervision, ideally within cross-functional teams.
Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, collaborate and grow your professional skills.
Readiness to work in a small yet international organisation, show initiative and gradually take over responsibilities.
Comfort working in a remote-first environment with availability for travel.
Additional considerations
Familiarity with and/or experience working with carbon market policy or stakeholders, such as crediting programmes (standards), their registries, trading exchanges, analytics firms and market intermediaries is highly desired.
Prior experience working with data technology products (e.g., dashboards, data warehouses, self-service reporting platforms) in a technical or non-technical role (e.g., product management, customer success, etc.) considered a plus.
Demonstrated capability of a problem-solving mindset bridging policy research, practical applications, and business thinking highly valued.
Diverse experiences introduce unique perspectives and opportunities for mutual growth. If you have other experience or skillsets which demonstrate why you are a great candidate for this role, we encourage you to apply and share them with us.
Location
This position is based in Singapore, working remote-first. The candidate’s working hours should have reasonable overlap with Central European Time.
