Job Summary:
The Medical Technologist I is responsible to perform laboratory testing and maintenance of daily operations in the laboratory so as to achieve smooth running of a quality laboratory service at all times.
Roles and Responsibilities
Bio-Banking Operations
  • Handle sample submission, registration, and transfers
  • Process blood samples into various components
  • Operate liquid handling equipment to facilitate processing.
  • Maintain accurate record and documentation of procedures.
  • Extract nucleic acid (RNA/DNA) from bio-specimens.
  • Perform efficient and accurate data entry into database
  • Ensure cleanliness of laboratory environment
  • Proper and regular maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Ensure that the SOPs and safety regulations are followed

Administrative
  • Provide logistic support for the operation of the biobank
  • Ensure timely dissemination of information, escalation of issues and recommending solutions to problems.
  • Participate in routine laboratory administrative work such as filing and processing of delivery orders and stock management
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head and Reporting Officer

Desired Skills and Competencies
  • Diploma/Degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Biotechnology, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 1-year clinical laboratory experience preferred
  • Laboratory skills and knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Able to work independently and preform under pressure
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate good teamwork
