Our team is seeking an Optimization and Design Expert to address critical issues in realizing structural optimization and inverse design methods for large-scale optoelectronic devices. This role involves addressing three primary objectives:

  • To gain a profound understanding of the inverse design of nano-photonics devices, AI-enhanced electromagnetic structure optimization, high-performance electromagnetic structure optimization algorithms, etc.
  • To study photolithography and electron beam lithography to process coupling structures on large-scale meta-optical devices, integrating optoelectronic chips, etc., for use in fields such as optical communication and optical computation.
  • To develop practical schemes and construct a setup to demonstrate the performance of photonic devices, such as the detection of orbital angular momentum of vortex light, as well as the evaluation of multiplexing and optical computing chips, etc. At last, one or two prototypical designs should be experimentally demonstrated.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth physical insights and interdisciplinary knowledge of electromagnetics, electrodynamics, parallel computation, computational electromagnetics, and semiconductor technology, etc. Practical experience in the design, fabrication, measurement, and characterization of nanophotonic devices is required.

Qualifications

  • A PhD degree in Physics, Photonics, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant area with a strong background in inverse design.
  • Working experience in the field of photonic devices, topology optimization, and high-performance electromagnetic computation.
  • Mathematics and specific knowledge required in electromagnetics, electrodynamics, computer graphics, and computer-aided engineering.
  • Technical proficiency: 1) theoretical and numerical modelling of integrated optical circuits and coding high-performance computational programs such as finite element analysis and iso-geometric analysis; 2) preparation experience such as the construction of the integrated optical circuit measurement platform, the manufacture of on-chip nanophotonic devices, etc.; 3) structured light measurement involving electric field and phase distributions.
  • Candidates should have strong publication records in reputed international journals in the field of inverse design, electromagnetic finite element calculation, and integrated optical circuits.
