AVP, Product Listing

Direct message the job poster from SGX Group Reporting to the Team Leader and Unit Head, this position is responsible for administering securities product listing applications and managing various regulatory projects related to product initiatives in the securities and derivatives market. Liaise with the Monetary Authority of Singapore on regulatory issues relating to products in the securities and derivatives markets. Work with securities product issuers, business and regulatory units on regulatory assessments, including effectiveness of existing rules, and solutions for new product initiatives. Design listing frameworks for new securities products to ensure product suitability for target investors. Demonstrate strong initiative in managing projects and when processing and prioritising listing applications within KPI timelines. Investigate potential breaches of listing rules by securities product issuers. Take enforcement and disciplinary action where breaches have occurred. Exercise resourcefulness and good judgement in analyzing issues and solving problems. Contribute to initiatives for maintaining/improving processes and systems to ensure effective and efficient execution of unit functions. Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including securities product issuers, business units, market professionals, solicitors, and regulators. Provides regulatory support for SGX’s product initiatives and obtains regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore where required e.g. product approval and related rulebook amendments. Analyse different product structures including bonds (e.g. asset-backed securities), ETFs, structured products, and futures and options. Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures for regulatory submissions. Liaises with regulatory authorities and international bodies (e.g., Monetary Authority of Singapore, International Organization of Securities Commissions) with regard to regulatory obligations (e.g., reporting of new product listings) and other matters (e.g., responding to public consultations). Monitors global regulatory developments relating to products and asset classes and considers their relevance and application to SGX. Requirements: A good degree in Law, Finance or Economics, with at least 2 years’ experience in financial regulations pertaining to the issuance, trading or clearing of capital market products. Sharp, meticulous and accurate in reviewing and processing information Able to effectively convey and communicate decisions and information clearly and accurately (both verbal and written)Team player with ability to work independently as required. Candidates with an international, multicultural and cross-disciplinary mindset are preferred. Prior experience in securities products (structuring, sale or advisory) or derivatives background preferred.
